I wish you had a rating higher then Five stars. This recipe is excellent! I did add black beans and kidney beans because my daughter said otherwise it wasn’t taco soup. I added more taco seasoning, and I used cream cheese instead of what they recommended. It’s what I had, and the stores are pretty bare. I highly recommend this recipe

This is a base for a good soup....I sauteed the onions, peppers and garlic(don't have to use but its good in this) I cut the chicken breast and did the seasoning thing but it washed off in the soup....so skip this step and just add the seasoning...skip the oil...leave out the extra salt....there is enough salt in the taco seasoning, speaking of taco seasoning, 1 T is not enough....it could stand the whole bag or 3 TBSP.....but go easy to start....I used a partial brick of cream cheese and it did not want to melt so I had to smash it in the soup....I added some pepper cheese which melted right in....add some beans....(I had some red kidney beans already cooked) like black beans (rinse) and toss in....you could use ground beef or roast beef in this soup....at the end test for salt.....
